If you are planning to visit Europe then you must stay at least a couple of days in one of its largest cities, Paris; ideally situated along the banks of the river Seine. Many couples decide to take short stay in Paris as it is probably the most romantic city in the world; it is almost guaranteed that a second, longer stay will be required.
It is famous for many famous buildings and locations; including famous sights like the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triomphe to name just two internationally famous landmarks. Traveling around Paris is relatively easy for visitors as well as locals; there is a superb underground rail system called the Metro which is efficient and easy to understand.
At almost 1,000 feet high, the Eiffel Tower is an impressive sight; it provides stunning views from the top and is visible throughout most of the city. At night, it comes alive with lights that have to be seen to be believed; if you are really enthusiastic you can take a tour where the guide will tell you how this beautiful tower was built.
On your Paris trip ensure you add the famous Champs Elysees to your list of places to visit; it will present you with many famous designer shops and good restaurants. This avenue is well worth a visit to see how the wealthy live; the exclusive five star hotels situated in this more select part of the city might be out of most visitors’ price range.
The world famous Louvre museum is in this city; it holds in excess of 300,000 pieces of art, which cannot possibly be seen in a single visit. There are so many exhibits here they cannot all be viewed during a short stay in Paris; the Mona Lisa and the Venus de Milo statue just two of many appreciated works of art. What makes Paris special is the number of artists that have been attracted to this great capital; these include Monet and Picasso who very fortunately left some of their work here for all to enjoy.
Of course, Napoleon commissioned the construction of the Arc de Triomphe, another Paris landmark; the names of his generals engraved upon it to honor them and his troops. Many people do not know that an observatory was included in the design which affords great views of the surrounding area; it stands in the place where the city’s main avenues begin including the Champs Elysees.

Most people find their Paris short stay vacations exciting but only see a glimpse of what’s on offer; the churches, cathedrals and other museums will just have to wait for another time.
